We’ve listed a few example internships below based upon our actual affiliate companies to give you a better idea of what types of opportunities we can arrange.

Hospitality Services (Traditional Ryokan)

About the Company:
Ryokan are hallmarks of traditional Japan, and while working at a ryokan, interns not only represent the face of the company to Japanese customers, but the face of Japan to all of the foreigners staying at the Japanese inn. By maintaining the methods of service and style that have been used in Japanese hospitality for centuries, ryokan offer a unique perspective to foreigners looking for insights into Japan beyond the typical hustle and bustle of daily life.

Specialities:
As an older establishment, this ryokan focuses on preserving Japanese tradition by allowing travelers to experience a piece of Japanese history.

Internship Description:
At this internship, interns will assist with the daily tasks around a traditional Japanese inn, while interacting directly with a variety of customers, both Japanese and foreign. Interns will have the unique chance to practice their Japanese at the crossroads between modern and traditional life. Interns will interact with native speakers on a daily basis.

Human Resources

About the Company:
This company offers career services to recent graduates looking to begin their career. By working with individual applicants to determine their experience and strengths, this company then aids them in applying to job opportunities at various companies that align with their career goals.

Internship Description:
Interns will work with the management team to improve services and communications between the company and the job applicants. This will include copywriting and translation. Interns will also assist with various other tasks such as research and the development of applicant on-boarding materials.

Hospitality Services (Hotel)

About the Company:
This new, independently-owned hotel is a great place for interns to learn the inner-workings of a hotel, first-hand. Because the hotel was recently established, it can provide a unique perspective for interns into the management and development of a hotel, which may not be available at many other hotels. The hotel business inherently includes a variety of diverse tasks, which interns must be able to adjust to and react to accordingly by staying nimble and being prepared to think creatively.

Internship Description:
Interns will be tasked with working in a multilingual environment in a hotel on both the front- and back-ends of business. Interns will have the opportunity to greatly increase their Japanese ability through working with directly with customers and coordinating with their colleagues.
